When Writer first starts, you're prompted to click one of the following:

I don't have a weblog, create a new Windows Live Spaces for me.

I already have a blog set up.

Select "I already have a blog set up."

Click Next.

Now you will be asked to select the type of account.
The type of account that you want to add is "Another weblog service":

Windows Live Spaces

SharePoint weblog

Another weblog service

02

Type the web address of your home page, your user name, and password, and then click Next.

 03

The Select Provider window appears. Choose Metaweblog API.

04

In the Remote posting URL for your weblog box, locate the angle brackets in the text string that appears. Replace the text with the following based on the module you wish to connect to.

Text/HTML - http://www.yoursite.com/metapost.ashx?key=Text/HTML

Publisher - http://www.yoursite.com/metapost.ashx?key=Publisher

05

Click Next.

If you are connecting to the Publisher module and you have more than one instance of it on your site you will be asked to select the instance you want to connect to. The listing will display the modules by module name and then by page location. This selection is not required when connecting to the editable Text/HTML modules on your site.

08

Next you will be asked if you would like Live Writer to detect your theme. If you are connecting to the Publishing system select Yes. If you are connecting to the Text/HTML module select No.

09

You configuration is now complete. If you wish to rename your connection you may do so now.

Editing

Text-HTML connections allow you to open Text/HTML modules where YOU have edit permissions. The Text/HTML connection does not allow you to create new Text/HTML modules on the site. Publisher connections allow you to create new content and edit existing content.

To open an existing entry or Text/HTML module select Open

12

A list of your connections is displayed. Make your selection and open the content you wish from the window to the right.

11

Once you have completed creating or editing your entry select Publish
