Redirecting Pages
Thursday, June 16, 2005 :: 3550 Views :: 0 Comments :: :: Tutorials, Tips & Tricks ::

Setting up a page for redirection is simple.

  • Create a new page giving it the title you want displayed on the menu.
  • Expand the "Advanced Settings" dialog

  • Under the "Link url" settings you can specify either:
  • url (A Link to an External Resource) This option is used when you want to send the visitor off of your site to another website or to another link or page deeper on your website than a main menu item.
  • Enter the address of the website or page you wish to "redirect" them to.

  • or Page (A Page On Your Site)
  • This option will provide a drop-down menu of all of the available pages on your site.

Once your settings are entered and you have updated the page your users will be redirected when they select that item from the menu.

*Important Tip!
Because your page is using a redirect anyone navigating the site will be redirected, even the administrator. If you need to change or delete the redirect you will need to do so from the "Admin" menu.

  • Navigate to Admin > Pages

  • Select the redirected page from the available pages
  • Click on the "Pencil" icon to get to the "Page Settings"

  • Make the required changes or delete the page.
