Google Anayltics provides detailed reporting for your website. Setting up the reporting process requires that you have a Google Account and that every page on your website contains the script required to capture your data. We must insert the script directly into the code of your page for the Analytics reporting to be effective.

To get started, if you do not already have a Google account create one here

Once your account is created complete the form here

This tutorial assumes your audio is already captured in a digital format and covers the proper preparation of your file using Audio MP3 Editor. (You can purchase the program here) For optimum delivery using our system the module requires that your file be an MP3 and use a sampling rate of 11.025 kHz, 22.050 kHz (recommended) or 44.100 kHz. While there are many audio conversion programs available, it is important that you utilize a program that allows you to specify the sampling rate of your saved files.

Setting up Audio MP3 Editor

In the main menu bar select "Settings" > "Output formats and settings"

Highlight "MP3" and enter the following settings and click OK

Our program is now configured to create the proper file for use with our module.

Now we need to convert our original file.

Select "File Open" and navigate to the file on you computer or network and "Add" it to the work area. The program make take a minute to import your file.

Once importated we can now edit our file. There are many options available for editing, for the purpose of this tutorial we will only address how to crop the begining and end of your file. The entire wave form of your file will be visible, you can click on it and select play to listen to any segment of your file. To zoom in on a specific area simply highlight it and select the "Zoom" icon. Cut any unwanted segments out.

Now that our file is editied we now need to set the "Tags"
Once your file is edited properly choose "File" > "Save As" and save your file. It is very helpful to name your file properly so your visitors can gather some information from the file and so you can manage your file properly. We recomend using the date of the recording as the naming convention. As an example, if the recorded date is December 5th, 2006 I would name my file 12.06.2006, if the date was September 9th, 2006 the file name would be 09.09.2006.

There are times when you may wish to have a main menu item point to a different website or even another page on your website. The basic term for this is called a redirect. You are "redirecting" the user from the menu item they selected to a location you want them to go. Redirection can be a very helpful tool making navigation of your site easy to understand and follow.
